Laptop RAM Latency Question

It defaults to the highest CAS latency, so if you've got one 16 and one 18, they default to 18.

SO as some of you may know i'm in the middle of choosing a new system for myself, and one of the laptops has a single stick of 3200mhz RAM, and they don't clarify the latency. So if I were to buy another stick of 3200mhz, and it was CL18, would the other stick just default to CL18? Kind of a dumb question but i'm just making sure.
