I have a question about this compatibility message. It says Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions. So will i actually need a different cpu because FYI I do not have another CPU.

no. as long as your motherboard supports bios flashing without a cpu, gpu or ram you can update your motherboard without any other components

PC specs:

Ryzen 9 3900X overclocked to 4.3-4.4 GHz

Corsair H100i platinum

32 GB Trident Z RGB 3200 MHz 14-14-14-34

RTX 2060

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge wifi

NZXT H510

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

2 TB WD hard drive

Corsair RM 750 Watt

ASUS ROG PG248Q

Razer Ornata Chroma

Razer Firefly

Razer Deathadder 2013

Logitech G935 Wireless

Looks like that motherboard was shipping with a new enough firmware 6 months ago according to a reddit post, but that motherboard doesn't support USB bios flashing. If you get an old stock motherboard you would have to request a free AMD bootkit through the warranty support page to be able to update the Bios.

Asrock has updated the bios of this board to support 3000 series however there is a chance you can get a old dusty board that has been sitting on a shelf pre-bios update though I am sure this is unlikely. I personally recommend trying to get the money for 5000 series and the newest chipset.

no you don't, mine said the same, the driver is already pre installed on some motherboards, al you have to do is install windows and then insert your disks from your components boxes and go to the official websites, and install the drivers, dont install the Nvidia studio, install the game ready drive, also download Kaspersky, it is the best antivirus software out there that detects the most, i did a test to see if i had any virus and my norton security said no, but the kaspersky said yes, and it was labeled as this, Trojan.Multi.GenAutorunReg.a

There, I fixed your problem. This board has onboard wifi too and supports zen2 processors out of the box.
