So I just built a new PC based on the Ryzen 9 5900X and no matter what i try i can't get it to post. Everything in the system appears to be getting power as all my case and component fans are spinning up.

Specs:

Ryzen 9 5900X

Aorus Master B550 MB

4x8GB G.Skill 3200mhz RAM

Aorus XTREME GTX 1080ti

Corsair 850w PSU

I've tried reseating all of the components and cables, trying a single stick of RAM, different monitors and cables and flashing the BIOS.

If anyone has any suggestions on what I could try next i would really appreciate it.

what specific parts are new and not new, so you can narrow down the problem.

also see if you can see if your cpu is heating up when you turn your pc on, so you at least know its getting power.

All of the parts except for the graphics card are new. I pulled it from my old system while I wait for my 3080 to arrive. I've also tried using my old RAM which i knew worked with Ryzen but that didnt work either.

Clear cmos and try again.

If no go, try the old cpu and post windows. Then update the chipset drivers.

Gigabyte is very picky how the bios is flashed. Generally doing one revision at a time. Updating the chipset driver is always first on all boards.

Ill try clearing the CMOS, but i cant use the old CPU as it was a 2600 which isnt compatible with b550

Since the board supports Q-flash, the only suggestion I have is to flash to the Agesa bios 1.0.8.0 for the Cpu support.

You can also take it to the shop and see if it posts with a 3000 series chip just to be sure the board at least works. If this is not doable, RMA the board.

No dice, looks like i'll have to RMA the board. Thanks for the help

if only you had a x570..

i still dont understand why the x570 supports zen+, zen 2 and 3, but how the b550 only supports zen 2 and 3..
