need BUDGET M.2 help

Greetings, i am doing a budget build, which is better between SN550 500gb vs crucial P2 500bg for roughly the same price ? 

(will be mostly for OS and a couple of games)

The're pretty similar drives(dramless nvme tlc, about 2GB/s peak), id get the cheaper of the two.

anything else perhaps better for the price ? an MX500 or anything of the sort ?

Germany, an MX500 GB would be 53, p2 is 54, sn550 is 58, BX500 is 38 but i heard that its not good (all 500gb models)

Id get the p2 then. I woudln't bother with the dramless sata drives, your giving up too much for the small price savings.

I bought it a week ago @Amazon.de

Yes, it works fine, but there's one annoying Firmware issue they haven't fixed yet & they don't have any timeline on when it will be fixed (on Monday I spent 1,5h talking to Crucial support about it).

 

So this is what it is about: I was expecting that with new fast P2 I'd have Win10 up and running in a few seconds, but instead of that it stops right away with a msg:

S.M.A.R.T status bad, backup and replace. Press F1 to resume...

(Than you click through that and it works perfectly.)

But on cold boot, that damn error msg pops up.

 

I downloaded Crucial's Storage Executive tool and it says:

Exceeded Temperature Threshold
CT500P2SSD8

Device Temperature

65532

Celsius

Yes, correct, it shows that SSD has heated up to 65k Celsius!?! And no, it's not stuck at this temp; sometimes it changes and it shows 65535 (so even a few degrees more).

 

Anyways, I saw someone on Amazon commented about this issue already a month ago - still isn't fixed & as written above, after speaking with Crucial's Support, they confirmed they are aware of this issue, but do not have any timeline on when (if) they plan to fix it.
