Corsair AX860 Platinum or Seasonic Prime Ultra SSR-850TR

jmo2727

Hi I don't know if this question might sound dumb but I can't decide between the two PSUs. I checked the tier list and they are on the same tier however I'm not familiar with performance of the two. I can't see much comparison online either. In my country, the AX860 is a lot cheaper than the Prime Ultra, so I want to know if it's worth paying extra for the Prime Ultra. Can anyone enlighten me with this? Thank you so much.

Is the AX860 used or something?

It's been discontinued for about five years ago.

Oof, I'm glad I asked here first. It's being sold as new from the retailer, which is weird. I'm guessing it's really old stock or something. Is it still recommended or are there any other PSUs that you can recommend?

OLD PSU.... 5 Years or more already gone off the warranty.

NOPE.... PASS... ;)

What about an RMX 850 or HX 850?

If you want Titanium you can get an AX 850W, still making them new.

Yeah.  Considering the frantic PSU buying that took place after COVID19, hard to believe anyone has any N.O.S. left.  Especially on the high end and cheaper than something newer.

They likely found them in the back room behind a bunch of stuff  and under a whole bunch of stuff with 2 inches of dust on it that hasn't been touched in over 5 years.
