Computer refuses to post (sort of)

So I just go a DDR2 8gb 4x2 kit of memory off of eBay and they both work just fine but when I put them both in at the same time the computer just refuses to even post. the fan turns on and the memory is the same brand (Samsung). I have no idea what's going on plz help.
 

For clarification:
I have a zotac 9300 Mini ITX motherboard with Nvidia integrated graphics, 220W power supply, Intel core 2 quad, and a 120gb hard drive.

Do you know that your board supports 8GB of RAM? I believe a few boards from that era didn't.

Yes I made sure that it does

I messed with some stuff in the bios to see if it would work and now it won't even post. I made the ram "linked" or something

Yes, They are the exact same sticks

Put both sticks in and clear the bios. 

 

The easy way to clear the bios:

Disconnect the power cord. Open the system and remove the CR2032 battery that's on the mobo somewhere (Note the orientation so you can put it back in the same way).

Then with the power cord still unplugged, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. 

Then put the battery back in.

Then plug it back in and turn it on.

Also, do you still have the old memory, and did you have two sticks then also?

If so, can you get us the specs on the old sticks? Pic of the label if nothing else?

Just to clarify, its not posting at all now right?

If thats correct, reseat your CPU and try the old sticks of ram.

Did you previously have 2 sticks or 1?

And can you get us the part number from the old sticks?

when it posted with 1 stick, does it show the correct amount of ram?

I highly suspect that the mobo only supports single ranked memory.

So I fixed my computer and now it'll boot all the way to Linux and run fine with one stick of 4GB of memory. I'm actually typing this on my computer right now. the ram I am using is Samsung DDR2 memory and they're both 4GB as the motherboard only supports 8GB. However when I put the other 8GB stick into the other memory slot it won't even post. I've tried a lot of things like resetting the bios to switching the memory and going back to the old memory. No matter what when I put 2 sticks of memory in to the motherboard it won't post and I still don't know why. To be honest, I'm probably just gonna give up on upgrading this computer and with the money I get from Christmas and my job, I'm just going to buy a fairly new Dell Optiplex and just throw a graphics card into it and new memory. If someone could just show me some best bang for buck parts that help it game better then that would be amazing.
