Budget 600w psu?

g1meat

Hi guys I've been looking through the tier lists and it seems the decent psu's are too expensive for my build. I'm looking to spend 65$ max on a power supply for this config:

- R5 3600

- EVGA GTX 1070 SC

- Asrock b450m Pro4

- PNY XLR8 16gb 3200

- WD RE 2T HDD

- TG GX2 1TB SSD

I just need to be pointed in the right direction for a 550-650w psu

Corsair CX550M would be a good choice.

Go lower than that you start running into risking the hardware.

That said there is no such thing as too expensive for the build when the PSU is the most important part of the PC by far.

Even with the non modular version its running $70, slightly out of budget

I have a family member that bought a smart 600 for his 1070 and he's been using it for a year, don't think there are any problems with it. Is Thermaltake really that bad?

They are complete total garbage except for one high end model.

Very low quality.

All depends on how much you like your PC.

When they go they normally take something else with them so it depends on how many times you want to buy the same parts over again.

In the end it depends on how much you want to spend later.

Save $5 now only to spend a lot more later on replacing parts the PSU took out when it went bad. Could be the GPU or MB or both.....

Plus a new PSU on top of that.

That $5 could end up costing you hundreds later.
