Hey i just upgraded my pc with a ryzen5 5600x and rtx3080. Im using an asus prime x570 motherboard, latest bios version installed.

After installing cpu and gpu I installed the latest drivers for the rtx3080 (i had alteady removed the amd display drivers using display driver uninstaller). i played some games and then tried to shut down my pc.

However it startet to boot up again and since then is stuck in an infinite boot loop.

I can enter the bios but after save&exit it starts booting from the POST screen again.

Any ideas what to do?

Edit: i already tried to unplug all usb-devices.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Could you perhaps give a more detailed description of what happens when it boot loops? Perhaps link a video of it?

What I can think of going from what is already know about your issue I can really only recommend that you try and clear the CMOS.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

16gb 3600mhz triedent z ram, 750psu (corsair), nvme ssd as a boot drive. The bios shows that cpu and ram are working fine or at least it recognizes everything

What psu? 750 means little. Could also be that windows did a bork and is going nuts atm. Since you upgraded maybe try the old gpu?

I will try to clear the cmos tomorrow its 2 am right now :D. It boots into the screen where i can enter the bios with del/f2 and after that shows some loading screen with something like "starting to repear"(i dont quite remember rn) after 2 seconds it starts booting again.

The system has worked fine and i didnt do anything else then trying shut it down

Corsair CX750M i think.  Yeah I might try to swap it out but will it solve the problem if i install the 3080 again?

Well first of all that psu is not at all adequate for that gpu and is basically shitting it's pants when the gpu becomes active :p. So test with the old card and if it's fine it's just a psu issue (and possibly windows got fucked up a bit due to all the crashing now :p).

Eyy its 2am here as well :D

It sounds like its a Windows problem since it gets to the loading phase of Windows and then crashes.

Okay but i didnt ran into issues when i played cod for like 1hr. And 750W should be enough according to nvidia. Ryzen 5 has also pretty low power consumption with a 65w tdp

I cleared the cmos and also tried to boot without the gpu installed to avoid psu problems. Any other ideas before I reinstall Windows?

I get these two images below in a loop just to give you an idea.

Which card is installed now?

The cx750m is a lower end psu and the 3080 is tripping high end 750w psu's so not a surprise it's an issue.

No, probably just get an adequate PSU, also if you don't have second drive for games and another as a boot drive for windows you're doing something wrong. ;)

Tried the vega 56 and rtx 3080. No difference. After messing around in the bios i disabled csm and it doesnt even let me enter the bios for reinstalling windows for neither gpu. I have already cleared the cmos- no difference.

Looks like i fried my motherboard?

Btw its a tx750M if thats any better.

That is A LOT better but people still have pretty wide issues with it getting tripped by a 3080.

Your mobo for sure isn't fried. I'd do a cmos reset see what happens and go from there. I do am fairly certain your windows is messed up so make a new bootable windows usb or use whichever you used and use it to try a recover on your windows drive. Don't use the 3080 for now as it can trip the psu again.

I have a feeling your psu has given up the ghost here. You can try once more with the 3080 and see what that gives.

Well all fans and led,aio pump and gpu fans work normally. I just dont get to the post screen anymore. The problem occured immediatly after disableing csm in the bios end pressing save and exit.

It should have reset the moment the cmos battery was taken out. You did unplug it from power when doing that right?

Thanks for all the help btw!

I would honestly rma/replace the psu. It is not good enough for a 3080 anyways.

Im going to replace the motherboard. I think i still got warranty. Something went wrong during bios update. I wilk look into the psu issue but 750 watts should be fine.

 Thanks for your help!
