"Driverless" webcam

ronfouchier

Hi there,

I am looking for a webcam, which does not require the installation of additional software in order to function properly.

Due to the pandemic I find myself working more and more from home and would like to be able to attach a webcam to my work provided laptop, since the built-in webcam is always positioned slightly off to the right due to the arrangement of the screens on my desk.

Are there any webcams that don't require additonal software, which out it-department will not install?

Cheers,
Ron

Any webcam you buy would be automatically detected without even bothering to install the driver. It's all plug and play.

Humor me, as you should do.

This. The software is basically just a bunch of extra features usually that do not impact operation.

Thank you! 🥳

Odered a couple of webcams in order to be able to compare their quality and so far no additional drivers were needed. Just like you said 😀.
