3500x for gaming

So I wanted to build a budget build until I am able to get a 5600x and a 6800, so I can get a 3300x or the 3500x for the same price, (yes the 3300x is in stock here and is for 150 usd), so which one is better, one has 4 cores 8 threads, the other 6 cores 6 threads, I figure the 3500x is better, and I can get a 3100 for 120 dollars, I'll game and stream, and I'm gonna use a radeon 6800

3300x is better but if this is just a placeholder cpu get like a cheaper 2600 or 1600af.

Can't I use a gpu encoder on the 6800

Well, I'll get a 3300x if the 6800 has a good gpu encoder, otherwise I'll get a 3500x, or even a 3600, correct?

If you already are planning to buy the 5600X. Why do feel the need to buy a placeholder CPU???

 

Could you just wait for like a week???

 

I mean it's kinda a waste of money.

It's not a placeholder for a short time, I'm gonna keep it and a year or two later get a 5800x, and upgrade other parts too, well, I can save a lot by getting a 3100, is it good enough, or will it be a bottleneck
