Hi, I recently made a nas for my father and it is like a lenovo think centre m82 so if anyone familiar with it know that it is like the size of 3u or 2u chassis so I like want like a rack and want to put that and like a switch and the router inside it so that it gives a clean look. and my budget for the same is really low like 30 or 40 bucks for the rack. I currently live in India so please help me with the things available in India. Thanks

Lenovo ThinkCentre M82 is a SFF Desktop chassis, not rackmount (I couldn't find rackmount version of that). There is no easy way to mount it in a standard rack.

i don't think you can get a rack for that amount. here in the uk, just the shelf for the rack costs like £25-30. the server racks seem to cost like £200. i don't know why TF it costs that much lol, thats the only reason I don't have one. I just bought a little computer desk instead. im sure you can get something similar to a rack for 40$ for cheap af, but you never know, they might be way cheaper in India than they are over here

what i did is just put startech rubber case feet on components and place them on top of each other, ive got the server computer at the bottom, then a laptop on top of it with rubber case feet, and 2 switches on top also with rubber case feet, and planning to put a old router used as an AP on top of there too. its on a cheap computer desk that you can roll around was like £20

So, you're in India. Use that famous Indian ingenuity: go to a local metal working shop, describe what you want (making a drawing on paper will probably help) and have it fabricated for you at rockbottom prices :) It may not look as sophisticated as a Dell or DSI rack enclosure, but it'll fit your budget a lot better!

HTH!

Hi, thanks for the response but apparently it is really hard to find these kind of people and it is even harder in this time. Like if anyone can help me build it and maybe give some ideas. thanks
