Thunderbolt on AMD platform

iv'e got ryzen 9 3990X and gigabyte x570 aours master

is there any why to use Thunderbolt devices on AMD platform?

i want to connect external sound card and it required Thunderbolt 3 

any suggestion?

there are thuderbolt pcie cards you can slot in the motherboard as you would do with a gpu or with an internal sounds card.

Some b550 motherboards come with thunderbolt. But if your motherboard doesn't have it, you could probably use an add in card like this one.

Are you sure your external sound card is thunderbolt and not USB-C? If you need a thunderbolt adapter to run a external sound card you might aswell have gone with a internal one

Oh okay then. Basically you have 2 options:

 

- Switch out your mobo for another one including thunderbolt. There are a few, but i can say which one out of the top of my head.

 

- Get a Thunderbolt PCIe expansion card like the one @boggy77 suggested.
