A new generation of AMD CPUs that is way better for gaming (over 20% in pretty much every game) just came out, you should look at those!

I recommend a 5600X if you just game / do light workloads and a 5900X if you do need a bunch of cores. Don't bother with the 5800X

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Computer having a hard time powering on? Troubleshoot it with this guide. (Currently looking for suggestions to update it into the context of <current year> and make it its own thread)

This could work. Where do you live in EU?

I'd wait 1-2 months, there are rumors of non "x" versions of Zen 3. They should be around $80 cheaper

geometry is hard

Where do you propose he get one from? From my sources, AMD is in the same boat as Nvidia and we aren't going to see much stock until February. The stuff that does come in will be sniped up by bots online and over priced on eBay and forums.

A 3700x is pretty close to a 5600x in benchmarks I've seen. The 5600x is somewhat faster than the 3700x in single threaded work, but for multithreaded tasks or multitasking, the extra cores of the 3700x help it.

Main Computer: CPU - Ryzen 5 5900x Cooler - NZXT Kraken x53  RAM - 32GB Corsairsrair Vengeance Pro GPU - Zotac RTX 3070 Case - Lian Li LanCool II RGB (White) Storage - 1TB Inland Premium M.2 SSD and 2x WD 2TB Black.

Backup Computer: CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x Cooler - CoolerMaster ML240 V2 RAM - 32GB G.Skill RipJaws GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1070 FE Case - Cougar QBX Storage - 500GB WD Black M.2 SSD

If you have an hdd make sure is 7400 Rpm because 5400 rpm will be a bit slow or instead of an hdd hunt for a good SSD since black friday and cyber monday are coming up.

I think you should go with a 3080 instead of a 3070 because the 3070 is more 1440p and 1080p focused.

First, thank you all for your responses, I will stick with 3700x as it's comparable in performance with 5600x.

I still have few questions:

- For the PSU, I will take the Corsair RM850 80PLUS Gold, is it a good choice ?

- Which is better for my use case: the 3700x or the i9-10900KF ?

- What about the screen ? It's an INOVU 29" LED - CS2900

Thanks !
