Nvidia graphics card drivers

Go to solution Solved by Cyracus,

Your friend is correct

I'm currently on a GTX 1070 and have bought a new computer, which includes a RTX 3080, but I'm still waiting a couple of weeks for the graphics card to come in so I'm using my old graphics (the GTX 1070) in my new system. Now I'm wondering if I need to install new drivers for my RTX 3080 once I get it. My friend says that they share the same drivers so even if I swap to a 3080 I don't need to do anything with my drivers, can anyone confirm if this is true?

usually it will work just fine but if you have any problems, go ahead and update the drivers anyway.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

In theory, it should just work the same, but with my test bench, if I swap graphics cards of different generations, I sometimes have to reinstall the drivers to ensure everything works correctly. You may have to do the same thing.
