Although I can't build this right now, I have an awesome idea for a pc but I don't know know if the idea is at all physically realistic. Is it at all possible to build a gaming pc in an old-timey diving helmet?

Some quick research shows that the size of the opening on most diving helmets is about 8.5 inches in diameter which then leads to a sphere which has a larger internal radius. This is the only information I could find so I apologize if that is enough information to go off of.

Is possible I'd love to put in a mini itx board and a small form factor graphics card.

Then we'll need specific dimension to give an answer

But if the neck opening is 8.5inch(~210mm), and the sphere above is slightly bigger

And mini itx is 170x170mm, it's possible

Though you need airflow to cool things

Did some rough sizing and some guess work and it looks like most diving helmets have a circular opening of roughly 8.5 inch diameter that leads to a sphere of diameter that appears to be at a common minimum 10 inches but the average seems to be about 11 inches in diameter, assuming my crude measurements are accurate.

Most helmets have windows on both sides that in theory could be modified to hold fans and improve airflow. Diving helmets often have to be rested on stands and cables could be routed through the bottom of the helmet with the power supply hidden in the stand.

sounds like it's very possible

given how LTT did a build in a FO4 bomb thingy, which i think was way smaller

Sweet, last thing I have to do then is to wait till I'm out of college so I can afford to build the weird thing ι:

Just know that u won't be able to fit a high end GPU in it

Thinking maybe xx60 tier GPU at most

Unless there are short xx70 cards

Honestly, this would more be about having a unique and functional gaming pc rather than a beast of a system. Besides, what would be cooler than an ominously glowing diving helmet being a gaming machine?

Yeah, I did a little bit of modeling and it looks like if a card were as wide as the mother board then a card up to 4 inches tall might just barely fit.

i was thinking that u could fit more if you put the gpu and motherboard back to back using a riser, like nzxt's H1 case

not gonna deny, it's gonna be awesome

frost the glass to make it diffuse the RGB would be one of the things i would do
