this guy had a similar problem and repasting took it from 90-100c gaming to 60-70c at full load. I would start by repasting before digging into thermal probes as they are much less likely to be faulty considering the laptop has already been opened.

you should definitely be seeing better temps based on most of the reviews for that laptop.

That's not the point, a dell G5 with the same cooling system and symptoms as your laptop runs 30c cooler at full load than yours does at idle after repasting. 

The best gaming PC is the PC you like to game on, how you like to game on it

But I dont Take apart computers I have never my friend did the conversion
