Mini display port question

I currently have a ASUS Strix GL703GS with a GEFORCE 1070. Currently i am running the laptop display along with a monitor on the HDMI and another using HDMI to mDP adapter. These monitors cannot be daisy chained to the best of my knowledge. I recently found out that you can split mDP. Would it be possible to use a splitter on mDP to get two screens and still use the HDMI for a 4th screen along with the laptop screen? I dont want to drop money on an adapter if it wont work
