Posted November 2, 2020 It depends what you are running. If all you do is gaming and light stuff then the 5600x is more than enough for a few years. There is no point in spending an extra £160 if you aren't going to use it. Posted November 2, 2020 Author The votes are neck to neck... I see both points. hence why the poll lol i was hoping everyone would say just get the 5800x so make it easy for me lol Folding Stats SYSTEM SPEC AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | Motherboard Asus Strix B550i | RAM 32gb 3200 Crucial Ballistix | GPU Nvidia RTX 3070 Founder Edition | Cooling Barrow CPU/PUMP Block, EKWB Vector GPU Block, Corsair 280mm Radiator | Case NZXT H1 | Storage Sabrent Rocket 2tb, Samsung SM951 1tb PSU NZXT S650 SFX Gold | Display Acer Predator XB271HU | Keyboard Corsair K70 Lux | Mouse Corsair M65 Pro Sound Logitech Z560 THX | Operating System Windows 10 Pro Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/1264354-what-cpu-should-i-get/#findComment-14172914 Share on other sites
 You want 1440p gaming with high settings... That's mainly the job of your graphics card. Since money is not a problem, the 5600X is the choice to be ready for some CPU heavy games and high framerates. But I think, 5800X is a little overkill. The 5800X would save some time when you are video editing but you don't... My build: CPU Intel Core i7 9700 8x 3.00GHz So.1151 CPU cooler be quiet!
