Interesting so it's the same thing with 8-bit panel being descripted (6bit+FRC)???

Yes the color it self it's actually pretty fine I guess. But the displays with those description tends to be very dim. Maybe so we couldn't noticed that it is a 6 bit panel.

Anyway making it possible to display 10 bit is hard and expensive so what if we just faked it? FRC stands for Frame Rate Control. Basically if it can't display a specific shade of color because it's between one 8 bit value and another, it will just flip back and forth between them, except really really fast. So fast your brain will be fooled into thinking its the correct color.

But you may say, "Hah! But then wouldn't I notice since my monitor's refresh rate is so low? Say 60 Hz?" And yes, you'd be right, but the color difference between the two colors is so small that your brain can't differentiate between the two and it won't appear like the pixels are flickering, when really they are. The end result being you perceive 10 bit color from your monitor when really it's only capable of displaying 8 bit.

Brains are pretty neat.

Would 10 bit (8 bit FRC) have the same amount of values as real 10 bit or how similar can it get to 10 bit ?
