Hey guys, the ryzen 5000 series is being released next week and I was just wondering what the general consensus for the stock at launch is going to be. Are they generally expected to be sold out at launch like gpus lately, or is it safe to wait for reviews to buy one?  I want to build a new computer and I am hoping to get one of the new rdna2 cards but I don't want to get stuck with a cpu and no gpu or vise versa.

We do nto really know.

this is if, but if

they are better than any Intel cpus at gaming and at workloads they will be sold out very quickly.

if they are not as good as promised they will be popular, but likely not popular enough to run out of stock soon.

that was just mayby :)

How would we now? Do we have an idea how many CPUs were produced vs how many bots vs outlets?

Do you really need one ASAP?  Just wait, there's really no huge benefit to nabbing one first day.  Or worrying about it.

Oh you know, you know you know, read the wooden desk growth ring lines and throw away that crystal ball.

I am sure Ryzen has told everyone whats going on as hype does not increase sales.

Just wait and see OP just wait and see, and maybe pray.

Every time I see a post on someone asking about new products that the public have not gotten their hands on makes me laugh..

To the OP, my guess is due to difficulties around the world right now (COVID pandemic) there won't be enough supply to be able to supply the demand on launch day.

I'm working on a diagram to explain the most likely scenario.

Use lots of fancy colors but I think the likely scenario is that Ryzen 5000 will work just fine and sales will be amazing, the best ever as someone in the public always says.

Come on now, obviously nobody knows. I was asking opinion of expectations, just like everyone expected the 3070 to sell out immediately. While I do not need one immediately, I would rather not be in a situation waiting until mid 2021 to get one just like the 3080.

Look at the ryzen 3000 launch. If they were hard to get then, they will be way harder to get now. I honestly dont know how it was since i didnt get my 3700x til march and had no problems.
