I recently got a second monitor and ever since then I've been having this problem. At seemingly random times, either one or both monitors will freak out and display a bunch of jumbled up colours. It's usually just the main monitor (Acer X233H) that will do it, but sometimes the other will too. Sometimes it will do that without BSODing, but that could be because I reset the computer if it does it. If it's only doing it on my main monitor, and I unplug it while it's doing it, the error will go on to the other monitor. I doubt the GPU (HIS Radeon 7770) is overheating, because it idles at around 43C, which would be normal with 2 monitors, because it used to idle in the low 30s. I am on semi-old drivers, 13.2 I believe. I've personally never seen anything like this before, so I'm hoping you guys could help.
