Steam game will not launch!

The game is Unreal Tournament 2004

 

Has anyone else ever had the problem of a steam game not opening? Ive tried everything. Checked game integrity, tried opening from the .exe file under the game folder. Did a command thing that reset all my steam cache and such. Deleted the .blob file under steam folder. (This is all stuff I found on internet). ran steam AND UT 2004 in compatability along with administrative mode.

When I try to run the game (UT2004) it shows green around my profile pic as if I was in a game. Then it goes back to blue after about 5 seconds. It worked fine on my laptop but not my desktop. Both are running windows 7 64bit.

 

also, the game never even shows up in my task manager while clicking the "play" button, or running the .exe from the folder.

Did you try a pc restart. that works for me if checking the game integrity does not.

lol yes, i tried a restart..i also forgot to mention i re-downloaded and re-installed multiple times.

what compatibility mode did you run it in xp or win 2k.
