Hiya,

Speclist

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

CPU Cooler: Wraith Cooler

RAM: G Skill DDR4 Ripjaws-V 2x16Gb 3200Mhz

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080 Vision OC

Case: Lian Li Lancool Mesh II RGB

PSU: Enermax Revolution D.F. PSU 750W

My new GPU arrived yesterday, and thus I threw it in together with my new PSU (35A, so am I correct in using one cable from the PSU for the two slots on the GPU?)

Now, when I turn it on, it gives me three really short beeps, then a normal POST beep, and then it actually boots.

Everything seems to work, my GPU's fans spin when under load, I get the same average 3DMark scores at others with my setup. The card get's recognized as the RTX3080.

So I've got no clue as to what the post error would refer to, as my manual doesn't include a post list, and it gives me conflicting feelings when gives an error, yet still boots.

Any other suggestions for me to try, or what could be the issue? Am I safe in using it like this for now?

What post screen? If you mean a LED display on the motherboard, I don't have one.

If you mean on the actual monitor, I don't get a post screen there.

Yeah, the first screen after the pc turns on. It looks a bit like this. Maybe your screen takes to long to wake up and thats why you are not seeing it. It only appears for a few seconds.

I have never once seen that screen o.o

Any suggestion on getting it to show? With SSD's these days boots are way too quick.

It has nothing to do with your ssd because this all happens before anything is even loaded from the ssd but this is not important.

How I would do this:

Turn pc and monitor off.

Turn monitor on. It should show something like "No display input detected".

Set the monitor to hdmi/displayPort/dvi whatever you use to connect to the pc. This step is just in case your monitor is slow in detecting the right input.

Turn the pc on before the monitor goes to sleep.

Make a picture/video with your phone of the screen. The screen will be there only for a few seconds.

I tried this three times, but I never got to see a screen like that before seeing my motherboard's screen pop up.

Ok I think this is was a misunderstanding.😁

My Post Screen and your Motherboard Screen are the same. The picture I used as an example is just the first thing I could find that looks like that. Yours will be different but similar.

Can you take a picture of the motherboard screen?

I should've probably thought of that as well! But this is the only indicative screen I get (picture not mine, but it's this one.)

Now I feel old. I remember this screen have much more information but I guess the newer gaming motherboards don't have that feature.

Sorry I'm out of ideas.

No worries, thanks for trying, hopefully someone comes around with an idea.

It's just weird to get (assumed) error beeps, and then it still boots fine and dandy.

there should be a way to disable that post image and revert to to the original checks, etc which might show some more info..

go into the bios and try

1. disabling fast boot

2. disable boot logo / image..

it's usually different on every bios / motherboard where it is, but i'd try that
