Sniper Elite 3 No Audio, please help

I'm trying to play Sniper Elite 3 with my friend, but the audio doesn't work for him. He's tried restarting the game, his computer, reinstalling the game, he's got directX 12 installed as well as .netframework 4.0 (the two things quite a few videos call for as a fix). At one point while messing about with all things mentioned above, audio began working and was fine for the entire play session, but afterwards returned to same broken state. There is absolutely no audio coming from the game. He's using a steelseries arctic 7 wireless. All help is appreciated, as this has been frustrating us for quite a while now!

Check and make sure the headsets dongle plugged in properly. It sounds like you might have a loose connection.

Is it only happening in that game, or do other games (or YouTube video's) have audio issues?

No, it only happens in SE3, I've been voice chatting with him at the same time as opening it as well, so...

Is it the gameplay audio that's not coming through then? I might have misunderstood the problem.

The game is not making sound, not gameplay, cutscenes, menus, music, anything coming from the game.

ahhh i see.

With the game open, tight click on the sound icon down in the task bar and click on "Volume mixer"

You should see a slider for the game or game launcher, make sure its matched with the rest of them.

For example in the invluded pic i shared, you can see both chrome and steam and all are at the same volume level.

It sounds like the game might be muted.

Already tried that, it's at max, and this wasn't even touched the time it (seemingly randomly) worked.

Well then go touch the same thing again.

You have affected this before, so maybe a bit more slowly, start doing what you have done before to see if you can get it working.

 

When you start the game, are you at least seeing another slider pop up in the volume mixer?

Yes, the slider is there, and it's, as stated, at max. We have tried all common fixes in windows audio settings as well as all potential fixes we could find online. If it's done in the volume mixer or in general windows sound settings, we have probably already tried it. Also, forgot to mention, we have also tried verifying steam game files, with no effect.

People have clearly had this problem before, but none of their fixes has worked for us.
