Hi guys so I have a couple of questions about my new upgrade. I currently have a i7 3770k OC @ 4.7GHz which is starting to be 100% in some games. I’m looking to get a Zen 3 and was going to get a 5700x but there isn’t one atm. So i’ll get the 5800x which has had a price hike in the UK and is closely priced to the 5900x now being £100 price difference. So which one should I choose? As you can tell from my current build I don’t upgrade my CPU much so that has me leaning towards the 5900x. I won’t be using either CPU to it’s potential right now as I don’t really do any productivity tasks, so I mainly want the extra cores for “future proofing” and the slightly clock boost. Let me know which one you think will be the better choose of the 2 CPUs?

I also need a new mobo too and I don’t really know too much about them and won’t know what to pick between a B550 or X570. I don’t think i’ll be taking advantage of the extra CPU lanes of the x570. Also I really like to OC so I want something good at OC. So if someone could recommend me a good mobo that would be great?

IMO, if you don't need the power, don't pay the extra money for it, and put that money towards something else, like that x570 mobo. If I were you, what I would do is go with a Ryzen 5 3600 or 3700x, and then go with an x570 mobo. The only real difference between x570 and B550 is PCIe gen 4. Also, I think that only x570 boards can support SLI.

@jsugarman2005 stf. Both have have pice gen 4 and both can support sli. Either those cpus will be good @Daniel_1104 at the rate you upgrade.

Sorry! I thought they were talking about B450! My bad!
