What are your priorities for a motherboard? Is anyone priced significantly different?

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

Nothing very particular, just that it should run my 3600 fine as it's my first pc build.

Nope, they're all the same

They'll all do just fine for a Ryzen 5 3600.

Note: If buying the Gigabyte or Asus board, you might receive one with a BIOS too old to start a 3600.

Look for the orange "Ryzen 3000 Ready" badge.

Some brick and mortar retailers can update it for you.

The Gigabyte will require BIOS F40, and an AMD Boot Kit to flash if you happen to get old stock.

The Asus will require BIOS 1201, and the same AMD Boot Kit.

The MSI Max series all come with compatible BIOS's

The Boot Kit will not be required if you can use a 1000/2000 series CPU to update.

Oh alright..So if i get the MSI one i don't have to update the BIOS right?

Also, does it have support for a rgb strip?

Either should have Ryzen 3000 update installed from factory by now. You have to make sure the box says Ryzen 3000 ready is all. They should all support RGB strips but check their respective pages at their manufacturers websites.

Just look it up in the manufacturers website. They will list all the features of a given board there ;)

MSI website says this:

  • 2 x 5050 RGB LED strip 12V connectors

Can it support this:

https://www.amazon.sg/dp/B08DKPYZ7L/?coliid=IOGFQ3D9CKJIH&colid=3E6ISCTR9M9CG&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

No that is addressable RBG. Is not supported I think you need 12V strip.

Oh alright, guess I'll just go for the Gigabyte one then, it says it has

  1. 1 x RGB (RGBW) LED strip header
  2. 2 x digital LED strip headers
  3. 2 x digital LED strip power select jumpers

So is one of them the a-rgb headers?

Not with that strip I think. The Gigabyte have two argb headers but they are 5-pin and that strip is 3-pin...

Yes, this should be compatible with 4-pin RGB headers. So should work with any motherboard from ASRock, MSI, ASUS and Gigabyte with 4-pin 12V RGB headers.
