I'm looking at a from scratch build.  The 3070 is what I'm shooting for while keeping the new AMD tech in view.

Corsair has the RM750x ($135 free shipping) and local best buy has the 2018 RM850x ($145). They both appear to be the 2018 versions, not the v2.

Any reason not to pull the trigger on one of these?

Any reason the v2s would be better options?

Would the $10 difference be worth bumping to the 850 since it is overkill?

Am I understanding correctly that both of them have the extra 4pin for CPU power? I know it isnt necessary atm.

It might not be overkill. Those new generation 3xxx NVIDIA cards need a lot of power to manage the spikey behavior.

So the extra 10 bucks, i would've done it.

Also i have one of those RM750x's and it has been very perfect to me. Best part is the fan turning off when its on low power usage.

And yes it has both 4 pin and 8pin CPU power connectors.

Altho im not really sure about the differences between the 2018 version (which is the one i have as well) or the V2.
Pretty sure some ppl in here can tell you in detail.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!
