Hey guys, I’ve been looking around at some cases, and I really like the idea of the CoolerMaster Q300L/500L and how it can be used vertically or horizontally. But all I really see about the case is how poor the airflow is.

I plan to use the case in my living room/TV stand. I’ve looked at cube style cases but they’re too tall. So tldr, are there any cases that can be used horizontally/vertically like the cooler master case, but that don’t have terrible airflow?

Is there a budget or motherboard size or power limit?

there are a bunch of SFF cases with a lot of airflow but have various limitations and tend to be expensive.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I would like to spend under 120 dollars, and my motherboard size is micro ATX. I’m just going to have a Ryzen 3100, RTX 2060 and a 500W EVGA power supply.

Do you have the case personally? I don’t want to trust comments on YouTube videos because I don’t know if they actually have the case or not.

I just hate the conflicting information about it ya know

I was actually just looking at that one! I’m afraid with the components I have for now, since I’m using the stock cooler on the CPU it might not fit. I’m still leaning towards the cooler master q300L, I’m just curious if the airflow is really that bad.

I would for sure put 2 120mm in the front and replace the rear exhaust fan with a nicer one too.

That’s a really nice case, thank you for linking that! I’ll have to just confirm with the dimensions that everything would fit but it’s definitely my most preferred option

I have a HTPC in that case, and it works great.

The only thing to keep in mind:

1) CPU Cooler Height.  It's limited there, but not a huge deal.

2) IF you plan to use a DVD / Blu Ray drive, that can easily invade the CPU HSF area, so that can also be a problem.
