Artifacts/document preservation services

I have a lot of very important documents from the 1940s. Stories that couldn’t be believed.

I need to preserve these documents. I don’t know what the service would be called but all these journals are written in pencil & very likely to be destroyed as they’re very delicate. Several journals & many papers.

I know there are specialists that specialise in preservation of old paper documents.

I am looking for a company or leads in the United States. East coast preferred. I understand it costs money. I am hoping to receive the documents as computer files. JPG, PDF, so on.

Actual documents or pictures? PDF probably be the best as that will open in all platforms/office applications/document viewers.

Contact your local library as they be able put you in touch with such services. Or even offer them.

I have personal journals/diaries.

Handwritten documents & similar.

I want to receive copies as some form of PDF or other computer digital format.
