Hi community,

On my recently upgraded build i now have a minor problem. When i turn on the pc before the Mobo logo appears on the screen the mobo does some tests, to make sure that all the components are working properly right? On my mobo the codes for the checks that the board is doing are displayed on the on board led and the screen. On startup then the board seems to be stuck on 9c, which is checking USB and SATA ports. It is stuck there for at least 10 to 15 seconds, which is really annoying because it takes up  most of the time of the boot process. A similar thing happens on shutdown. the computer seem to turn of relatively quickly and the screen goes black, hdds power down etc, but the fans keep spinning, and the leds stay on for another 10 to 15 sec

My specs:

CPU: i5 4670K (OC at 4.1 GHz, not the issue)

Mobo: msi mpower max z87

Ram: 8GB of kingston value ram

GPU: msi gtx 680 lightning

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 256 GB (Boot), 2x 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Thanks already

In system configuration you can disable boot GUI and such, atleast I can.

yes but the boot gui is the directory that tells windows to boot, so it is applied as the start of the windows boot. My problem occurs during the POST period which is before the boot process of the os, it has something to do with hardware, not with the operating system
