So I have an issue with windows. I turned my computer on a few days ago to windows attempting to diagnose something (it didn't get to the sign in). It then said that windows quick repair could not fixed for problem and sent me to the advanced diagnostic page. After trying every single option in there it kept on booting up to the same issue. I then decided that it was better just to do a fresh install of windows. It was successful until it asked to restart the computer. However when I press restart the keyboard and mouse LEDs turned off as did the monitor. However the computer did not turn off and the fans kept on spinning ect. The monitor then turned back on and after loading past bios ect. came back to the start of the installation process.

It seems to me that the problem is the computer isn't restarting which is causing windows to not install and the diagnostic program to not fix it?

( I have no idea how windows broke by the way)

That's because you still have your installation drive plugged in, meaning that it will try to boot to that first before anything else.

I will try unplugging after then. However when I have installed windows before I have never had to take it out.

Sounds like a hardware failure,

My intuition says it's a faulty CPU,but we will have to check that out properly.

Download Hiren’s BootCD PE (It's a Windows 10 based rescue environment),then flash it to a USB drive.

Boot into the drive and test the CPU with Prime95 with the Small FFTs option for a hour.

I would also recommend to test the RAM afterwards with Memtest86.

Tell us if you get any errors while testing.
