Laptop No Longer runs with both factory RAM DIMMs

So I have a HP G60 from a family friend I'm fixing up for them. The machine was left sitting in a closet for probably the last 6 or so years and Windows wouldn't boot up so I decided to just do a fresh install of Windows 10. But for whatever reason, the system doesn't seem to be stable with both original 2GB sticks of memory installed. The system would hard shut off as it boots into Windows. Tried booting into Linux and the same thing happens so it seems to be a hardware issue. The funny thing is that the system is stable with either stick of RAM in either slot provided that only one is installed. The moment both are installed, the thing doesn't even make it through booting Windows successfully. The RTC battery is completely flat so the CMOS has already been reset several times. I've done a memory test via the Windows installer with no problems after iterations with both sticks in so I'm at a lost with what the issue is here. Anyone got any ideas?
