LG OLED BX TV. Gaming with a 5.1 System and Gsync

Trasric

Hey guys,

sorry for my english, i am not native.

I am about to invest in an OLED65BX TV. Besides watching movies i am very interested in gaming since it supports gsync. I also would like to use my 5.1 System for gaming. The problem is, that my AV Receiver does not support gsync or HDMi2.1.  Now my question is, is it possible to split the video-/audio-signals and connect my GPU (MSI Gaming X Trio RTX2080ti) to both the TV for video and the AV Receiver for audio and make this work? My GPU only has HDMI2.0b, but also two DisplayPort 1.4 slots (and there are DisplayPort 1.4 -> HDMI2.1 adapters).

thank you

Trasric

Hi jj9987,

thank you for your answer.

My Receiver (Onkyo-NR696) does support ARC (that is how my old TV is connected right now) and optical input.

Well then you are good. Just plug the PC directly into the TV and keep the TV connected to the AVR and ARC will do the rest.

You can also just use the motherboards Phono (RCA) connectors and plug them into ur surround system. Any 'proper' home theater amp should support a multitude of connectors which include multi channel RCA connectors.

Never mind, seems thats no longer a 'common' thing now.

wait your video card doeasnt support hdmi 2.1 so dont worry about it...just go from comp to receiver (set receiver to passthrough video)  and turn on arc/earc  for audio from tv.
vrr and gsync should work

by not passthroughing video you telling the receiver to process the video so vrr and gsync wont work
