Multi GPU issues (Code 43)

Hi there,

 

I've just upgraded from my 2080 Super to a 3090 and I want to run both for Blender rendering. My motherboard is a x570 and my CPU is a Ryzen 3900. I have a 1200w psu so power isn't and issue.

When I connect my 2080 Super into the second Pcie slot the computer boots fine, however in device manager the 2080 super is listed under Display Adapters with the error code "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

 

I have tried both cards in slot one and they both work fine by themselves, however, any card entered into slot 2 seems to have this Code 43 issue. I have enough knowledge to have manually changed the lanes from 16x to 8x on both Pcie slots in case the auto feature wasn't working, however that has not made a difference.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
