So i have been trying to investigate/troubleshoot my gaming pc for the past month. It has not booted past bios at all and would freeze then go to an error code sometimes. After sending my motherboard for warranty replacement thinking its the motherboard. Then i still cannot boot but its mainly three errors from windows, kernal security check failure, kmode exception not handled, driver irql not less or equal. I have unplugged all drives in suspicion that they are bad so i kept a new one plugged in. After testing and re-downloading windows on usb i am still getting errors. Its just the purple screen to start installing windows by selecting language then blue error screen, it wont show new drive on bios either.
spec:

i9 9900k

asus maximus hero wifi

geforce rtx 2080 8gb

32gb of corsair vengence rgb pro

nzxt x72 liquid cooler

bad drivers:

samsung 860 evo 1tb

seagate 2tb

samsung 970 500gb, 250gb

new driver:

pny 1tb ssd

Have you cleared the CMOS and can you get into windows safe mode? It could possibly your ram, cpu or the drive you are using.

Instructions for frustration management:

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

ORLY?

This is the one downside of building your own pc, you can't call the manufacturer and let them mess with it. First clear the CMOS. It's the cheapest step and the easiest. Then try a different drive if you have a clean one on hand or one that you don't care about the data on it. After that, a cheap stick or two of ram, then if none of that fixes the issue, then it's the CPU. Hopefully for you, it is the ram or drive.

Based on what I've been told so far have you received an error code on the BSOD? What error code(s) does it give you if any?

With some quick Googling for KERNEL_CHECK_SECURITY_FAILURE within the first couple results a site says the most common culprits are:

  • Memory problems
  • Outdated drivers
  • Viruses
  • Corrupted Windows system files
  • Security programs
  • A damaged or corrupted hard disk

We've just about eliminated all hardware as culprits. Have we tried disconnecting all storage devices and connecting a known good HDD/SSD with a Windows install?
