Everything's been slow since driver update

Since I updated to the nvidia driver update 456.71 I've noticed every game I've played has been stuttering and has significant struggles.

Using windows 10 latest update of oct 09 using 64 bit

Using intel i7-7700

GTX 1070

16 gigs of ram

 

I've tested this on multiple games on both harddrives and ssds, all of them are struggling for some reason. So far I've tested AC: Odyssey, Origins, Syndicate, Minecraft java & windows 10 (those especially shouldn't be having any frame issues yet all stutter and have significant drops) LoL, CoD MW, Vampyr, even FN. All have fps issues and take longer than normal to load. I also had to completely disable windows defender because it was constantly running and taking up to 40% of my cpu, that also started happening when windows updated itself without asking me a few days ago. Any ideas would be great, I'm considering rolling back my drivers but it did end up fixing some freezing in games and it seems to trade that off for general performance issues.

The thing is when new things arrive old things start to get out of date and they become old i suggest you to roll back ur drivers for better performance and yeah u should upgrade for more performance.
