I've been asking about this future system ALOT on the forum but i'm pretty much decided that this will be my system

-Older but still awesome coolermaster case

-AsRock 990fx extreme 3

-Amd Fx 8320 3.5 octo-core

-8gb of ram

-XFX R7770 ultra oc edition

-500gb hdd

-evga 600b

So I know that for what i'm planing to do with this system that the cpu is quite out of place but I still want it to be a bit future proof but the reason i'm saying any of this is because I know the 7770 can scrape buy on like medium settings in most games so should I just stick with the 7770 and get another one later on?

Stick with the 7770 for now and then buying a single good graphics card like a 280x / 770 or better later on is probably a better idea.

Well, it depends on you, are you comfortable playing on medium?? If yes than sure, stick with 7770. If not and you wanna play new titles on high or ultra than you should upgrade. It all depends on what you want.

I'd really like to be able to play games on high but I was saying I know ONE 7770 can scrape by at medium I was wondering if to achieve higher fps/perfromance if late on I should throw in another 7770?

If I was in your shoes, I would probably go for a single powerful card like 270/ 760 or higher later on, but I won't crossfire a low-end card.

Unless there's a 2GB version of the HD7770 that I'm not aware of, you'd be limited by two things even if you were to get a 2nd HD7770:

1. 128bit memory interface

2. 1GB VRAM

Even if you had two HD7770's, these two limitng factors or bottlenecks would make CF'ing two HD7770's a bad idea. Never SLI/CF two lower end cards. My belief is, when going for SLi/CF, pick two higher end cards like R9 280X/GTX770 as they tend to have more VRAM and wider memory interface....like 256bit, 384bit or 512bit memory interfaces.

And guys, I get the impression that that most here are saying CF'ing is bad due to drivers, but no warnings about nVidia's SLi and its potential 'headaches' as well? I have a system with a pair of R9 290X and another with a pair of GTX670 in SLi, both aren't perfect and present each own sets of 'headaches', but if you want to run dual/multi card systems, you must be prepared for a certain amount of 'headaches'.
