ROG Ryuo 240 not found

I'm having trouble getting asus software (armory crate, FWUpdate, live dash) to detect the ryuo. The system is running well and the aio works great as an aio, but I get "device not found" when running fwupdate and live dash. Has anyone experienced this or know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried installing older versions of the softwares but still stuck with default rgb and animation.
