I agree with everything you said except this part.

Of course Jessa has reasons to lie or obfuscate facts. This entire thing is basically her shit talking her competitor. Blindly believing Jessa saying things about DriveSavers is essentially like saying "I believe that Intel is telling me the whole truth when they show benchmarks of their processors being better than AMD. Intel has no reason to lie or obfuscate any facts".

 

Not only is Jessa getting a lot of publicity from this which can result in more customers, she is at the same time dragging DriveSavers through the mud which means they might get fewer customers. Where will those customers go? Some of them will probably go to Jessa.

 

Jessa has a long list of reasons why she might be lying, most of which indirectly means she makes more money. That does not mean she is lying, but I think the whole "she has no reason to lie" is just flat out wrong and a naive way of thinking.
