[BF4] Second assault - First Impression

Hi guys,

 

So i've bought the Second Assault DLC for Battlefield 4 and i'm loving it right now! I played Battlefield 3 for ~200 hours, it was my favourite game from the first match i played! 

 

I have now played Operation Fire Storm 2014 and Caspian Border 2014 and i really like what they did! Something noticable was that my frames went from 40 isch to 70! (on Ultra) (Specs in sig) 

The maps look really awesome and much better than the original maps on Battlefield 4 (Maybe just because i loved Battlefield 3 so much). This could just be because of a patch but i don't know, i'll look it up later!

 

I really liked that you take of with a jet from the runway and not just start in the air just like you did in Battlefield 3! But i noticed when the jet was on the ground it started shaking a little.

Also the some things rendered later then others what didn't happen in the original Battlefield 4 maps.

 

I also noticed that i started playing better(?!) I was for example 15-1 in Caspian Border and that almost never happend in the original Battlefield 4 maps.

 

 

If you have played Battlefield 3 and now Battlefield 4 and you want your maps back but then improved, then i say go for it! If you haven't still go for it!

 

Battlefield 4 is playable now and really fun! Most of the bugs are patched, and they are working on the other ones!

The remakes of the old map really are just nothing short of fantastic, they did a great job on that. I enjoy the F2000 and GOL Magnum a lot as well.

I have found performance on these maps is lower than the original BF4 maps. With the recent games on second assault I was in the 70-80fps range but on the BF4 default maps I was more like 110-170. On the new oil rig map some of the fire will drop my fps to 17!!!! There are some severe moments of poor performance on these rejigged maps, that one being the worst but by no means the only example.

 

Metro was as rubbish as ever, the changes made haven't fixed the problem with the map one bit. Overall pretty disappointed with it, because along with the DLC we got a whole load of new bugs.

having played both the bf4 and bf3 versions of metro within the last week, that isn't quite the case. BF3 is still worse, even with BF4 having the v40's (and now that those are nerfed it'll be even better) the flanking routes actually helped a LOT.

Now that the Blue and grey tints are gone make a world of difference.

 

Now if DICE would just remove them from BF3, but too many big egos at DICE don't like to admit their design choice was bad.

Stop playing on 64 player servers and join the no explosives ones.
