Simple question:

Are all Skylake Intel CPUs interchangeable/compatible

No. I mean they should, but that doesn't mean they are.

???

Can i change an i3 6100 for any LGA 1151 Skylake CPU

Maybe. It depends on the mobo and what it supports.

i know i sound like such a noob who needs to be spoon-fed

but

which is it?

is it under mobo, Model

Under CPU-Z there will be a tab called "mainboard", then a line that says "model"

That's the mobo model. Post it here and I can find you the CPU support list

I had the Pentium G4400 version

then added another 8 gb of DDR4 2400 (Might be relavant)

I then installed the i3 6100

That's fine, but not in that system, it's not pin compatible.

On *most* Lenovo systems there is a tiny B/W sticker that gives a model number, see if you can find that and post it
