Attaching Router to Modem?

neomodd

Hello guys,

I would like to upgrade my wifi network, because the current router struggles to handle that many wifi connected devices.

Also in online games like cs go, I get frequently 1 - 3 % package loss with ping spikes into the 70 - 90s.

My current router (CH7465LG-LC) has an integrated modem with a coaxial cable input and is provided by my ISP.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to connect the PC directly via a LAN cable.

Would it be possible / make sense, to buy a modern router (Huawei AX3 for example),

connect it with a LAN cable to the current router,

and than distribute the WiFi signal with the new router?

I hope my question is clear.

Kind regards and thank you in advance,

neomodd

You can connect a better access point to it and things may get better but it will be nothing like connecting a LAN cable. You are better off finding a way to route Ethernet.
