Fake rx 460?

Go to solution Solved by AndreiArgeanu,

So my friend's pc caught on fire, he ripped this thing and the pcie slot still on it off the motherboard. When tested it performs alright until it gets hot and then it tanks about 30 fps. It has no serial number or any visible branding aside from the AMD sticker on the fan. Has anyone seen anything like this? Or am I crazy?
Note: The video was from a scrapped Rig Reboot idea, so it's supposed to be a little cinematic. But I eventually had a better idea.

Uh, if I recall correctly he was a bit of an addict for overclocking and set this card, his ram, and cpu WAYYYY too high and his cpu burst into flames as he was playing Wolfenstien. He ripped this card and his ram from the pc and now I use the ram and gpu in my pc lol. Now he gets scared his computer is broken when his headphones don't register too well and is insanely paranoid.

My pc is an old HP Envy 700-214 and it's terrible to use.DSC04941.thumb.JPG.629a71a62cf5764c58968483d5896138.JPG

If you want to find out all the models of a certain gpu you can just search the name of the card + techpowerup on google and you can find everything there. And from the looks of it it's actually a PowerColor Red Dragon RX 460 with a different sticker stuck on top. You could also download GPU-Z and run it, if the GPU is fake it will tell you right away

Yeah I guess that's it. But, being though extensive overclocking, very little airflow, and years of wear and tear this card can't keep up anymore and I'd need to replace my whole pc instead of just the card if I were to upgrade.
