Hi :)

I recently purchased LG 32UK550 monitors. They are compliant with HDR10 although this was not something I was looking for when I selected them.

The image looks good when HDR is not activated in Win10.

Now, in Windows display properties, I can enable HDR via a toggle. When I do so, the image on the monitor looks less good (dim, reddish, ...)

What's going on?

I just disabled HDR for now but if that's just a dumb setting that I overlooked I'd actually like to learn about it.

Thank you very much in advance for your feedback.

Best,

-a-

That's HDR in a nutshell for most monitors.  My wife's LG is the same when HDR is enabled.  A lot of monitors claim HDR but fall short of the desired experience.  Also windows and HDR isn't quiet there yet IMO in terms of implementation.  It shouldn't have to be an always on option.  A lot of the stuff you view is designed for non HDR anyways so just having it on all the time can really mess with the way it looks.
