Hi all,

Im not sure if this is a motherboard lan port issue or a Windows issue.

I recently upgraded my internet to a 1000/100 line and while the download speed is perfect on my pc (get about 900mb/s), which is connected via lan, my upload speed is only about 30mb/s. When I connect my laptop via the same lan cable I get the full 100mb/s for upload.

I have enabled full 1gb duplex in adapter settings, this did not work.

If anyone could please help me with this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

We need more information..

  • what type of cable cat5, cat5e, cat6 and how are you connecting to your router?
  • system specs of your PC
  • are you using a modem/router or is it all in one?

All three of these questions are irrelevant since he has already confirmed that he can get the correct speeds if he use the same cable and plugs it into his laptop. If he gets the correct speeds and the only thing that changes is the PC he uses then the issue isn't with the router, cabling or how things are connected.

Also, if he is getting around 1Gbps of download then his network card in the PC should support more than 30Mbps upload.

I completely agree with OP that this seems to be a Windows issue or motherboard issue (BIOS or hardware).

OP, do you have any programs that interact with network connectivity installed? For example maybe some motherboard utility (sometimes includes "network optimization" software), or some third party software firewall (like Glasswire)? Which networking drives are you using? Built in Windows drivers? The drivers you can download from your motherboard manufacturer's website?
