Looking for GPU upgrade

Bios9

Budget (including currency):USD 400-500 tops, like not a penny past 500.

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: "landscaping" games, darksouls, witcher3, non competitive 1080 nice looking, open world sandbox, idk. I also use a molecular dynamics software that requires CUDA cores, so im bound to team green.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core. GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER. 16GiB 3200 DDR4. Display is an Acer 27'' 1920-1080 75Hz.

I kinda just want to run games at 1080 high/ultra at 60fps. interested in buying cyberpunk 2077, and any AAA game that's a single player openworld.

Thx everyone :)

I would buy a used 1080 Ti.

It's a beast of a card both for gaming and compute and is often available under $400 because of hype from the new Gen launch.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

thanks for the response, but I don't feel comfortable enough to buy used GPUs, specially because I don´t just used it for gaming, as i said, i use the CUDA cores for work and research related stuff. I'll have an eye out for the 3070 when it lunches.

To me it's a bummer that more people aren't comfortable with used GPUs because in the off chance that they don't work fine, most of the time they're DOA and then you can get a refund (same as new cards really).

But I understand why and in that case a 3070 is your best bet. Just be prepared to have to wait til mid-November / early December to get your hands on one, if the demand for the 3080 is to go by. Partner cards will also be priced higher than the $500 MSRP for the Founders Edition.
