wrong network showing up in task manager and data usage

When i open task manager every app shows 0% network usage and overall network usage is also 0. Other than that, if i go to windows settings and data usage its 0mb total usage over the past 30 days (obviously not right). The only internet adapters in the control panel are my main one and a vpn which is disabled (this problem existed before i even installed a vpn)
