Hey guys,

I'm asking for your help regarding an issue I can't overcome.

About a year ago I upgraded my system with another GTX 580. Everything ran perfectly fine.

A few weeks ago, for no apparent reason, my PC shut down by itself and ever since I can't enable SLI.

I have done a good amount of research online and can't figure out a solution.

So far I have tried uninstalling the drivers in every possible way and tried over 10 different versions of the nvidia drivers.

Everytime I go in the nvidia control pannel and try to either enable SLI or Surround, my PC either BSOD or my monitors just lose complete signal with the PC still running.

I've also tried a different SLI bridge without succes.

Both cards and PCI slots were tested on their own and everything seems fine.

I was just about reinstalling a fresh copy of Windows 7...

So if any of you had similar issues and found a way arround it I would be really greatfull.

If not I'll try the fresh install and provide feedback for poeple who might have the same problem.

Here are my PC specs if it can help in any way:

Intel Core i7 2600k at 4.6ghz

Asus Maximus IV extreme-z motherboard

16 gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz

2 way SLI Asus DCII GTX 580

RAID 0,120gb OCZ agility 3

Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000w

3 x Benq VW2420h monitors

Thanks !

Listen, have you tried reseating your graphics cards? It might sound silly, but it might actually work. Also, you should probably try to change PCIe slots and then get a metal SLI bridge and try that. If non of this works, before reinstalling Windows 7, you should try one more thing and try taking the second card in your configuration and put that in the main PCIe slot. If that works, that can only mean that both cards are fine and it is a probably an OS or motherboard problem. If so, again, before installing your OS, you should probably try re flashing your motherboard BIOS, I mean if its a hardware issue, that will almost always fix it if the problem is from the motherboard as long as the port isn't broken in any way which you have already told me. If all that doesn't work, see if you have a system restore point you can revert back too. You can get to the menu to do this the same way you get to the menu that displays safe mode (Just hit F8 over and over again when you restart your computer it will come up). And then, and only then, can you resintall the operating system under my method :P. Hope that helped. Feel free to ask any more questions and I will be happy to help.
