Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated. Also, feel free to correct me, this is my first time using the forum.

I just bought another hard drive to add to my system and upon installing it I was greeted to a pc that no longer would post. I then removed the new hard drive and returned to my previous configuration only to still have the issue.

I've noticed the "DRAM LED" comes on when attempting to boot.

This is what I've tried so far:

- cleared CMOS

- MEMOK!

- disconnected all sata devices

- tried either ram stick in each slot individually

No configuration of any of these methods has yielded anything positive

However, when I attempt to boot with no memory I do get a beep code

Am I forgetting anything? I want to try to isolate this before I start spending money I don't really have on replacement parts :/

I'm assuming it's either the mobo or ram but how can I determine?

this is something wrong with the memory. try to contact both asus and crucial. once you have pinpointed exactly which part is failing, make a RMA request or buy a new one.

I had an issue just like that. in my situation it was the memory sticks, I'm not sure if this is recommended or not but, my solution was using a q-tip with rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts on the memory sticks, making sure they were dry and fuzz free from the cotton before re-installing them. also, my motherboard had a sequence of beeps that notified me of the issue.
