I bought a note2 from a pawn shop. Verizon would not let me use the phone because the original owner did not finishing paying for the phone. Is there any way I can get around this? I want to use this phone so bad.

He doesn't have that choice AFAIK. The phone is locked down to Verizon.

oh didnt know i have only ever used 1 group with my phone

There are options, you can go to metro PCS and have them flash the phone onto their network, but no network in the US has coverage as large as verizon, no matter how much of a dick verizon is to its customers, its still the best carrier in the US. If only tmobile had verizon's coverage.

This is what I'd try. I'm pretty sure your state will have laws protecting you as well, and the pawn shop really should have checked to see if the phone was clean before selling it.

One of the many reasons I prefer GSM phones.

I highly doubt they would. I'd almost guarantee they have rules and laws against that, it's a security measure to help the phone company collect on unpaid accounts.

Someone mentioned just switching out the sim cards. Not sure if that would work or not. Ill give it a shot.

If you are still using the Scumbag's simcard then yes. I don't think verizon uses sim cards but you can look. Its your phone, use your own SIM.
